Remember Those Less Fortunate; Dig Deep for Charitable Appeal

Dear Fellow Employees and Retirees,

 

As a long-time state employee and MSEA-SEIU member, I’ve been honored for the past several years to be a member of the Maine State Employees’ Combined Charitable Appeal’s Planning and Admissions Committee, the group that oversees the campaign. This year marks MSECCA’s 30th anniversary, and each year I’m struck by the generosity of you, my brothers and sisters, who pledge your hard-earned dollars to help others in your communities and around the world.

While our own pocketbooks haven’t been spared during these hard times, we know that many are worse off, the victims of unemployment, illness, violence, and other misfortunes. As public servants, we’re helpful by nature, and MSECCA enables us to cast a wider safety net to reinforce the good work we do every day. If everyone gave just a little, we could easily meet our $400,000 goal. The campaign ends on December 18, and you can give online at http://www.maine.gov/msecca
